When a payroll date falls on a holiday, the School District of Lancaster’s practice is to pay the day prior to the holiday. If we followed the normal two week pay cycle we would have a pay on January 1st. Since this is a holiday, pay will be dated for December 31st.

Due to having three pays in December, there will be 27 pays in the calendar year 2020. Please review your federal withholdings to ensure that you have had enough federal tax withheld as the IRS updated the tables last year. You can find a tax estimator calculator on the IRS website that will allow you to do a preliminary tax calculation to review your tax liability for the 2020 1040.

If you need to have additional tax withheld, please go into ESS and edit your W4 information under pay/tax information.

Also, please keep in mind that this will be the 3rd pay of the month and therefore, there will be no health insurance or 403(b) withholding in the pay.

If you need to adjust your 403(b) contributions for the year, please (1) complete and sign a new election located on the intranet, (2) forward it to your advisor. Your advisor will forward the signed copy to payroll.
