How to properly address an Inter-Departmental Mail Envelope
- Cross out the previous mail recipient’s name “John Doe” (suggest crossing off your name when you receive and remove your mail from an interdepartmental envelope).
- Include receiver’s First and Last Name & department including bldg. name and floor number
- Deliver To: John Doe
- Department: C & M 3rd Fl., CIA (for C & M please include floor &office/dept.)
Please fill out the envelope as sampled below which includes “SENT BY” & “SENT BY DEPARTMENT”
In case there is a question, it can be returned to the sender
- Fill out the next available line until the whole page is filled then flip to the other side.
- Note that incorrect completion of envelopes may delay delivery or be returned to the sender
- Teacher inter-departmental mail should be addressed to the teacher’s name and building name
- Deliver To: John Doe
- Department: C & M Elementary or C & M Main Office
Please utilize electronic means as much as possible via email or scanned document
US Postal Mail
- USPS outgoing mail – If mail already has a stamp, then it goes in your outgoing mail for the postman to pick up. Placing personal mail/postcards in the district courier bin will delay delivery.
- District mail requiring to be metered (stamped) is to be placed in the district courier bin and Mailroom Systems will pick up daily at the Facilities Office at 3:00 PM.
